As I have matured in life I find that the quickest way to uncertainty in any relationship is conflict. I also understand that conflict can happen and when the conflict happens it is a time foster growth, understanding and trust.

Friday night I had a 4 hour heated conversation with 2 business partners. By the end cooler heads prevailed. 2 days later I am still in awe of the energy that was wasted. After I had time to reflect I wrote an email and sent it to both of them. Here is a portion of that email.

As I have matured in life I find that the quickest way to uncertainty in any relationship is conflict. I also understand that conflict can happen and when the conflict happens it is a time foster growth, understanding and trust.

I must have trust, honesty, compromise, and communication in any type of relationship.

I try with all my heart to be unselfish and a giving individual at all time.

I believe in being transparent, authentic and I like to leave the bullshit at the door, because at the end of the day all we have is our reputation.

I don’t care about being the first…. I simply care about being the best that my abilities in life lend me to be.

I don’t and won’t use anyone for personal gain.

I believe the more I give with a complete open heart the more that I will receive as long as I am not looking for something in return.

I do good and try to do the right thing in all instances simply for the sake of doing good.

I don’t think that any one person has the magic bullet idea, it takes good people, a team and a burning passion to succeed.

I always think that things can be done better, cheaper, and faster. (so please do not think that I am questioning your experience or you personally, I just know that the statuesque of the moment is not the only way to do things)

I am not perfect, nor do I expect anyone to be perfect.

There was a bit more in the email, but this was in my humble opinion the most important part.

I spend way to much time on twitter when I see a tweet from @deborahcarraro about a doing 100 push ups without stopping.

I spend way to much time on twitter and I know this when I see a tweet from @deborahcarraro about a doing 100 push ups without stopping. The tweet reads like this :

I was thinking to myself, I know that I can do at least 30 pushups. I get to the gym all pumped up and ready to do my 30 pushups…. I guess my arms did not get the memo that I KNOW, I FEEL and I CAN do 30 pushups.

Well that 30 was only 7

What only 7 push ups ohhhhhhhh crap, so as soon as I get home I opened HundredPushups.com and saw what I needed to do. The site is simple with a six week plan and and a initial test and a final test.

So as you can see 7 push ups is 93 away from my goal of 100. After reading the site, this is pretty simple, just follow the plan and the charts and in 6 weeks I will reach my goal and meet the challenge of doing 100 push ups without stopping.

I am issuing the challenge to all my friends and family to take part in the hundredpushup.com challenge.

6 Weeks from today or sooner I will be doing 100+ push ups.

I am planning on taking on the social media world and training businesses and individuals on how to use sites like facebook, myspace, craigslist, linkedin and twitter to grow, protect and define their brand.

Now I am not one of those people that strive for perfection all the time, but when I have a passion for something I really would like it to appear perfect. But there in lies the problem. There is no such thing as perfect. I must have spent 40% of my time trying to make my site http://blogtrainingacademy.com perfect. I changed logos 2 times, I changed the CMS (content management system) I am using from Joomla to wordpress, and then I changed site colors from grey and red to black and grey.So you would think that the site that I designed for my new venture was perfect NOPE……. as one of my friends said that most if not all sites are in constant state of beta.

So as I write this post I am asking myself how much time did I waste chasing a dream of perfection while damn near destroying possible.

There is no such thing as PERFECT, perfection does not exists at all. While we spend time trying to achieve perfection that possible opportunity is being passed by. People often say that they missed out on a PERFECT opportunity, but they really missed out on a possible opportunity. Possible is always attainable and perfect is never attainable.

I am resigned to the fact that my first social media class is possible, but will not be perfect. It is possible because of friends and family and my online community of people that encourage me daily.

Thank you to all that have made things possible in my life.

Let me start by saying that the service from the employees of Panda Express Gourmet Chinese Food in San Antonio was very good. Tonight at 9:17pm CST I paid for sub par food and I accept responsibility for being nice and a less than demanding customer.

When I walked into Panda Express I was greeted with a smile and then asked what could they get for me. I looked and immediately saw that they was only 1 serving of chow mein and maybe 3 scoops of rice (should have walked out). So I asked how long would it take for the chow mein and they stated 5 minutes and it actually took right at 5 minutes to get the fresh chow mein (that was good I guess). I assumed there was more rice being cooked as well, but that was not the case (should have walked out). Then I asked how long would it be to get fresh rice and they said 10 min so I just took what was there. Luckily they put out fresh orange chicken out but the person before me got the butt end of the chicken that was sitting under the heat lamp. Wait there is more about the food at Panda Express in San Antonio…the egg rolls where old, the shrimp rangoon was old, there was one serving of Madrin Chicken and this was only 9:17….. Panda Express still had 43 minutes to closing.

When I go to eat at any place I expect for there to be a good selection, the food be fresh and the service good. Tonight Panda Express did not have a good selection and the food was not fresh.

This post is not about a bitch or a rant defaming or degrading Panda Express. Tonight well tonight was not good at all and I am disappointed, my bill was 18.06 and I don’t think that I got my monies worth.

I know that I should have walked in, saw what was going on and walked out.
I am starting a business to train people how to use social media and blogging to protect and grow there brand. If I run my business like Panda runs their business then I will be BROKE.
With all this said my daughter just walked in and said DAD this was GOOD!…. she had Rice and Orange chicken from the Panda Express in San Antonio. If she is happy then that makes me happy and my sub par food will taste that much better, KIDS got to luv ‘em

So now I will go eat my food………. I am sure I will enjoy some of it

Last week I spent 3 days visiting the Trinity Tri-Point Special Needs Shelter in San Antonio, Texas. The Trinity TriPoint Shelter is a Level 4 Hospital with as many as 250 Special Needs evacuees (numbers fluctuate daily).

The shelter is now housing evacuees from Hurricane Ike after the storm destroyed a lot of Galveston and cut power to more than a million in Galveston. One of the evacuees at the shelter is my aunt Jennifer Smith. Luckily I am here in San Antonio to help provide comfort, get magazines, books, or anything she needs. I was also able to provide a cell phone from Cricket Wireless with unlimited minutes.

At first glance the Trinity Tri-Point Shelter looks to be a decent shelter but I have noticed that the temporary residents there are missing all the comforts of home.

There are very few books, no magazines, a TV that only has 2 stations a few DVD’s and that is really about it.

I am very proud of San Antonio for providing needed supplies to the Houston, Texas City, Baytown, and Galveston areas. Unfortunately San Antonio we still have more that we can do. I am calling on all businesses and citizens to come together again and Adopt a Shelter here in San Antonio. I am personally adopting the Trinity Tri-Point Special Needs Shelter at 281 and N. Saint Mary’s.

After looking at the shelter and speaking to a few residents and some of the nurses I have come up with things that I feel the shelter can use to give the evacuees a more comfortable living situation.
